A Positive Word….

I love words. In fact, I have been inspired to use the power of words for my next Jigsee puzzle! I am excited about this and my hope is that it helps children and adults to find words that nurture and encourage positive thinking!

I love how words work, how they can form sentences, which then create messages and then tell stories. Words can help us impart wisdom, keep tradition alive and describe our experiences of life. They connect us and help us to tell our stories of who we are, where we have been and where we want to go. Words can give us our voice.

I have always been intrigued by the power of words. Their impact on our lives and on those around us can never be underestimated. Sometimes words said in anger can hurt and words coming from love can heal. We can use them to tear ourselves and others down or to build up and support one another. I often say to young people to be careful what words you say to yourself because you are listening! I think that whatever words we use to describe ourselves have energy. They have the ability to inspire and can also help define certain moments in our lives.

I believe that kind words really matter. A kind word can make a difference to our day, adding to the quality of our lives and those around us.

However, I think there are times when there are no exact words to describe a feeling or an experience. Not knowing these words and actually, the absence of a word, can be impactful. The pause or the considered silence between well chosen words can convey a message that may feel more poignant and special. Sometimes few words are needed, just ones from the heart.

Writing stories, poetry and lyrics to a song can create magical meaning with words. In my opinion, these are the words of the soul. It is a glimpse into the word of our spirit and the human endeavour. It is where creativity, connection and ideas thrive and are nurtured. These words can help us to further understand one another, connect and flourish together.
